- I share your taste for a compact compiler for DOS. I've used Borland's
- Turbo C++ ever since it was known as Wizard C and their head logo was
- the bearded Wizard with the "don't panic" dystic. Even though Turbo C
- today is a bit bloated and most of it is for Windows, I believe you
- can still install it for DOS in a pretty good package.
-
- But I would suggest you look at Linux, and running Gcc. Because if
- you're the type of guy who likes the driving seat, Linux is a
- pleasure. My whole Linux system, including GCC, X and all, fits
- within 200 Mb of a 500Mb partition, leaving all 300Mb for my personal
- use. And, because I have a 1Gb disk in that machine, the other half
- has DOS and Windows.
